So I had a few issues with my 2000 V8 LS (long crank time, intermittent no start) that turned out to be a pcm problem.

The shop put 6 of the 8 stock coils back in, and ordered 2 more, because they wanted everything stock to diagnose.

I never had any problems with the coils, but since all of my stock ones now work, I am going to keep them in. Had the Accels in the car for about 7 months IIRC. They've all been bench tested by the shop and are working properly. Accel Part# 140032-8

$125 shipped.

These are the mustang ones right??

You cant mount them the same way so theyre exposed??

Correct. You cannot reuse the coil covers. I bought the set because I had a misfire (apparently 2) and instead of spendng the $400+ for motorcraft ones, I got these Accels that others have used here with no issues. While my car was in the shop getting diagnosed, they wanted to put in stock parts. So I brought in my old coils, they bench tested them for free to see which ones were bad, and replaced the 2 stockers that were bad. Since I have a full set of working coils in the car now, I don't need these anymore.

Ahh so the coils were never bad to begin with.

Is there anyway to modify the coil covers to make them fit?? I dont like the idea of having exposed coils.

I didn't think it looked like enough room to fab covers, and be able to bolt them down. Never bothered me, though. Maybe something could be rigged.

The thing was, I had 2 stock coils bad, but didn't know which 2, and getting all of them bench tested would've been expensive, so I bought the Accels for around $225, and just swapped them all.

The boot pulls off of these right? Can you take a picture with the boot off please?

Yes the boot pulls off of them. You can choose to use the stock coil boots but the boot on these fits snug and forms a seal at the top.

I thought that they didn't seal against the valve cover like the stock ones so water could get down there. I also want to know because I would be trying to make these work on the V6.

Not really.. You have like 1/3 on and inch between the COP cover and the brake booster.. On the pass side sure but only on one side would look goofy..

These seal soo well that you wouldn't have to worry about it.. The mustangs run them without a cover..

I see I see.. Well this would be a good fit because you can get them soo cheap..

Crap. Sorry dude. Got a call on friday from a good friend who told me he's getting divorced. I went to visit him for the weekend.

Will do it tonight after work.

This is a good deal for anyone looking to get a set of improved coils. My Accel coils have been in for three-and-a-half-plus years with no difficulty.

I'm still awaiting the pictures to see if the boots pull off of theses.
