I got around to finally chopping off the down-turned tips from the Magnaflow unit, modifying the rear bumper and adding some nice double-wall tips I got locally here at an auto parts store. Here's the before and after of the Magnaflow system as bought and modified:

looks great. are those michelin sports? how do you like them? (noise, comfort, etc))

Looks awesome! Where did you get those tips from and how much. I have been wanting to do this for a while now.

Nice job; looks good. I really like your magic license plate, too. :D

nice... iam looking for some tips as well.. kind of like the ones ken has...... i had some before i put the lse kit but they where all scratched so i had to dump them

Thanks guys. Believe it or not, I got them at Advance Auto Parts. They're made by 3A Racing, are true double-wall polished stainless steel and they were $20 each. They come with some ridiculous bolt-on clamp mechanism; I eliminated those and used stainless self-tapping screws right into the exhaust pipe. Cutting the bumper is a whole other story. I eyed it on one side and then traced a template on a sheet of paper, flipped it and traced it to the other side.

No, the tires are Nankang. I prefer Michelin, but they weren't readily available at the time I bought the rims. They are actually more quite than the stock tires and the ride is not much different.

looks good. you gave me something to do this week. were there other tips to chose from like a dual outlet. i like those. how long did it take you. how easy was installing em.
thanks for showing up my black on black on black ls. J/K.

Yes, there were other tips (at my store anyway), but none were as nice as these. The dual tips were not double-wall and did not specifiy as stainless. As for modifying the bumper and bolting on the tips, it took me about 3 hours; most of it spent just ensuring the first side I did was perfect so I could make a paper template for the other side. I also had to drop the back half of the cat-back a couple of time to adjust proper alignment. All-in-all it's an easy task, but I'm creative that way and also have mega patience. :D

what type of cutting tool did you use? Dremel like w/ cutoff wheel? I want to do this to my '01. I thought of the paper template, however i wanted to find an '03 or newer and trace the cutouts. Looks real good!

Thank-you! Actually, the bumper material cuts very smoothly with a utility knife. I scored a deep outline and simply twisted out the pieces with pliers. Cleaned up the edges with sandpaper. Have patience, and it helps to be a bit artistic. :D
