So today i was in the junk yard looking for some Mark VIII lights and all i found were junk, but next to a mark was a J30 with some projectors. So i kinda envisioned what it would look like, and i know its different, but i started to tear into the front today and got them mounted just have ALOT of mods to still make this look factory. I will upload some pictures tommorrow and let everyone know the process. So far it looks different but i think it will look nice when i make a custom center section and finish it. So let me know what you all think.

I too think we need pics. Otherwise....... uh, looks great?

Heh, I was just thinking about a projector retrofit today... I'm happy with my OEM HID housings/55w aftermarket system, but a pair of bi-xenon projectors would be pretty awesome. Hope you can make the look work with the car, are we talking 1st or 2nd gen here?

projectors look ricey to me, in anything, even my moms kia optima has projectors, and it looks ricey, but thats my opinion, i dont like projector headlights anyway so of course i'm gonna talk :q:q:q:q!

When do you not Jamie? ;) This is really what Jamie wants. I caught this down in the lower deck and it IS RICEY.

sorry all i just got up and finished putting the front back to the stock mark. When i was looking at it in the day light it looked REALLY ricey. So i put it all back, but i am not done witht this yet. I would like to add the projectors to help fix the visability or just buy some refurbished headlights. i appreciate all the replys on this. sorry i didnt get any pics uploaded.

Now you have to post pics or you have to be banned.

Although I have had plenty of projector headlight cars, S2000, SVX, WRX and have wished for regular headlights at one time of another on them for rainy day reasons. That was untill I drove a Mark VIII

Now with my 2nd Gen I have been trying to get a better low beam light spread out. I have the adapters from DLF and haven't installed them yet to see if this rectifies my problems

Really? My Mark has one of the best headlights out of any car I ever owned! I think only my Audi's was better. But all my friends say the same thing if they are in my car at night, "Man this thing has good headlights!"

I am still running OEM bulbs. Guess thats why I keep the two spares around. The OEM ones seem to do better then aftermarket ones that are the same color temperature.

2002wrxsti how do you have problems seeing out of a gen 2 what
did you screw up to do this

My Gen 1 sucked till I put LSC lights in it and then it was incredible.

I get the Gen 2 and the HID's are OK but nothing to write home about? So I adjust them up and they still aim way to low. I almost feel like the Hi Beams are what the Low Beams should be?!

That and if it rains out it is hard to see the lines on the road when there wet. I have had that with my S2000 but not my SVX or WRX cause they don't have HID's they have Halogens.

I know the direction they are pointing is not going to be fixed by doing the aftermarket upgrade but hopefully the color will be better on the wet roads with the new bulb? Plus I can sell off the old bulbs and ballasts and make a bit of money?

I don't see those projectors fitting inside the Mark housing but I'm looking at it from here and not there. Just looks a bit too big for a Gen 1 housing. Maybe in a Gen 2 something could work but I'm not seeing that idea working with those projectors being the size they are. If it would work, the idea would be better inside HID housings, not halogen housings. Maybe I got your whole idea mixed up too lol

i am looking at possible adding to the front bumper and removing the old mark lights and using the infiniti lights. i want to relocate the turn signal to the side marker light and doing some mods to it.

dude, pull that front bumper, stick a grill back in there, and put the bumper back on the vehicle properly first.. then do mods :)

if you want projectors, look for a bmw light housing... they are considerably smaller

ok so i can make sure no one is confused. The light is not going there. i am just showing everyone the difference. I agree with everyone that the lights just dont look right or i need to photoshop it to see what it will look like. i have always been a fan of projectors but cant find the correct donors for this project.

2002wrx you must have some serious eye issues if you dont like the way your gen 2 housings produce light, that or your chrome is shot and lenses are foggy because i have owned a few gen 2's now, and i dont see good at night period, i have 5 % tint on my 97 and 50 % on my entire windshield and 6000k hid's in mine and i can see fire ant mounds 3 miles ahead at 2 am.
