Aftermarket Transmission cooler?

Is it possible to plug the in and out ports for the factory transmission cooler and install an aftermarket cooler on the LS? Apparently the factory cooler cools the PS fluid and the hydraulic fan fluid also.

strange, on 03 there's a separate p/s cooler (and obviously no fan cooler)
