Anyone got any tips on how to close the Air intake filter housing on a Gen 2 V8. I replaced the stock filter with the K&N variety, however I am having the most :q:q:q:q-tastic time trying to get the clips on the bottom to hook back into the top half of the filter housing so that it seals completely. Should I just remove the whole housing? Or is that to much of a pain in the ass. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Just loosen up the first clamp to the left of the housing, it should be easier to snap it into place. You have to put a little bit of force on it to get to go. I always have a hard time opeing and closing the box myself.

I hear yea. It's a pain in the ass either way kinda. It took me longer to replace the stock air filter then it did me to install my whole k&n CAI. That tells you a lot. Lol. The route I took is harder then removing the air box. Which I didn't know at the time. To remove the air box its one screw by the wheel well. After you remove that screw just pull up on it and it will snap out. Then just remove the hose to the box and close up it up and reinstall the box.

Try 05 LS8's idea first. His way may work better. Lol

Yeah, you have to loosen the clamp on the hose so you can rotate the air filter. Then you can lift the top up, get the clips in, and then rotate it down till it clips in. It's a total BIATCH! I just re-oiled my K&N and it was a total biatch getting that stupid box both apart and back together.

All the more reason to buy the damn CAI and take the factory air-box out into a field "office space" style.

They are certainly difficult. I always take the air box completely out.
