I have a 98 TC and the air ride went out today i think.....there was a blown fuse and the light on the dash is on...i changed the fuse and looked at everything but it makes a cranking noise when there its trying to get level and wont raise at all....can anybody give me some advice.....does anybody know how much it would cost to switch to coils...something temporary until i can bagg it out completely...(ohhh yeah and im on a tight budget)
Thanks

Try www.americanairsuspension.com Eddie can answer your question about the air ride. I bought a air ride compressor from him a few years ago and it is still running good and i was on a tight budget. Eddie is a member here his user name is American Air-1.

i called a friend of mine who works on cars he said its prolly the air compressor...and how easy is it to swap the vic springs???

the compressor is very easy at least in my 93 it was
and doing springs is very easy too just unbolt the shocks from the axel take bags out put in springs

Did you get it fixed yet?

I have replaced numerous air springs over the years. Went with Coils one time. They go and that's all there is to it. Whenever 1 goes, I replace both so I'm not back doing it in 2 or 3 weeks. I have 2 spare used ones in my garage right now.:D

Could be a hole in the bag.
Could be a leak in the air line. Either a crack or it pulled out of one of the compression fittings.

But it could also be a bad compressor. And I'm inclined to think this is the problem.
The motor itself sounds like it's working, but the vent solenoid and dryer solenoids fail all of the time.

I have a Mark VIII, so the system is a little different, thought the fundamentals are the same. After you turn the car on, the compressor kicks on but nothing raises?

-You need to run around the car and listen for the sound of escaping air and identify where it's coming from. If the compressor still has compression and is working, you'll be able to hear and eventually feel where the air is escaping from.

A compressor will cost about $135, a new spring conversion will be around $165, plus shipping, from American Air Suspension.

thanks for all the advice...i went with the coil conversion and it cost me all but $100, swaped it out my self.....doesnt ride like it used to but its good for now!!!

i was gonna say i went with the arnott inc compressor bags and selenoids. it was cheap but the selenoids where bad from the start and cost me i think 3 or 400 bucks for 2 at the dealer. get the selenoids elsewhere and for a budget job its not bad. im either goin to americanairsuspension or just straight dealer parts next time because i spent a month after i replaced everything trying to figure out why my bags didnt fill. stupid selenoids. my spelling is off this morning due to captain morgan
