I unhooked the battery of my 97 Base to remove/replace the blown passenger (dash) airbag. Once all of the work was complete, I hooked the battery back up and turned the key, firing the engine. The air ride suspension system started pumping up and shut off with the car at full height (bags fully inflated). Car has not settled back down into its normal ride height.

Questions:
1) What did I screw up?
2) How did I screw it up?
3 How can I fix it?
4) What exactly happened to cause this?

You were near the air ride module, maybe check the connectors and wires to it?

I will check. If worse comes to worse, I have 2 spare air ride control modules in the garage.

No sensor work was done, as all work performed was in the cabin, under the dash. I will now pull the sensors, hook them to my multimeter, and do a sweep to see if I have a ride height sensor that has failed. I will be disconnecting the battery again soon to do some more work (welding) and will probably swap out the air ride control computer at the same time.

The front struts and rear 'springs' will be receiving the 'Octane Mod' to make up for the forthcoming ASHAM8 install and sensor lowering.

As a follow-up, I did absolutely NOTHING to the air ride system this week (too dang busy working). I took the car for a mile-long ride (to test it out, since it has been sitting for a year due to the wreck. I pulled into the drive and parked the car. Ride height returned to its' settings before it went all 'HIGH UP' on me!
