All Chrome Grille....Lincoln LSE Style!

I had a customer wanting an all chrome grille and since Lincoln doesn't sell one for the LS the next best thing to do is make one. I took a 2004-05 Lincoln LSE grille and a 2003 and up Lincoln LS grille and married them together. It's quite easy but the trick is finding the right 2003 and up Grille that is two pieces. Some of those grilles are one piece and it will not work. Basically you just take the center chrome piece off of the LSE grille and the 03 grille. Then just epoxy it back on. I'll do a How To on this later.

I put the grille on my car just to show what it looked like. It's a little bit too much chrome for me. Here are some pics:

Me too!

I have both 03 grilles as well, but the LSE is a one piece like you mentioned.

No splicing for me :(.

Looks great though!

Looks GREAT Ken!!

As they say each to his own...but that is the EXACT look I want. I just may contact you about a "price".

Curious as to the INTEGRITY of the "married" pieces now? Since it's a show piece with no weight barring, one could assume it's strong after the epoxy.

Thanks for the R&D once again.

Hey Ken,
I want to dress up my front end with a new grill (like a steel mesh or something similar). However, I would want to do my lower grill also but don't exactly know what would look best whether the mesh or equivalent being behind my current lower grill or removing the horizontal frame and doing it that way. Do you have any pictures of a LS like mine (i don't have an LSE or body kit) with upper and lower grill inserts? Thanks a lot!

BTW Ken, whereabouts in TN are you? I'd like to see the LS in person and meet you, I roll through on the I75 frequently.

I also am thinking you should sell an all chrome grille like the one you've just built - this looks much better than all the chrome aftermarket pieces.

:yourock: Ken you are the man! I absolutly love it and it's exactly what I invisioned. Thank you man, You Rock!

All of the mods are installed and the new custom system is looking mighty fine, I'll have final pics soon. :wrench

P.S.

Will you name it after me if you start making them. HEHE :)

j/k

The manufacturer of the grilles just melt the plastic posts to create a bond between the two pieces. I used high strength epoxy that you can pick up at any hardware store. It should not come apart because the top part of the center piece actually snaps onto the top half of half of the grille.

I don't have any pictures yet of the mesh grille on the standard bumper. However, once I get the pieces back and get it put on my car then there will be plenty of pictures.

I'm in Knoxville so just shoot me an email when you might be rolling through. As for the grille, it was a one-off for now. I had to purchase two different 03-05 LS grilles to find the two piece type. It might not be very cost prohibitive to make these. However, I'm in contact with the company that makes the production LS grille. I can suggest to them that it might be a good grille to make as an aftermarket thing but it may fall on deaf ears.
