I got a problem that hopefuly someone can help me with it. Recently I have just replaced my EGR tube and EGR Valve which got rid of my annoying exhaust leak. But I still have a problem when my engine is cold. The first and second time I press the gas to go the car tries to stall. Anyone have any Idea's and how much parts are to fix it.

First off, :W to :V

My first guess would be the IAC, did you happen to replace that when replacing your egr stuff. Would have been the perfect time :{ You'll get some great help here though, nice ride by the way!

My 98 LSC has a similar issue when cold a the first stop it would drp RMPS down to 500 and feel like it wanted to stall. The IAC was the culpret. It is a simple fix and not to expensive. I got one form a local Motocraft reseller for I beleve under $50.

Ok, I have all of those problems... what is the EGR tube and valve, and what is the IAC... If you have part numbers or know where you can get them at any local parts store, please let me know as I'm trying to do everything I can to keep up with my Mark's issues.

I had the same problem with my 94. I ended up replacing the fuel pump, which solved the problem. I don't know if thats it or not, but it worked for me.

You're lucky you have a 2nd Gen! The IAC is a breeze to change on those because Ford was nice enough to put it front and center for you guys. Us 1st genners got it a little rougher, try the VERY back of the intake, near the top of the trans bell housing. It sucks,I think most get at it from the bottom with a lot of extensions. :Bang

Did your's only sputter when it was cold, or all the time?

i have the same problem. in the morning when i'm first pulling out, kinda shakes like it's gonna stall, but i just give a little extra gas and its fine. but thanks for solving that problem.

Poor Idle, Intake Gasket

Thanks you guys for the help I'm going to try the IAC, I hust hope i dont have to remove all that #$% again, but if it means a smooth MARK VIII, I know its worth it. Also i got another question are intake manifold gaskets hard to FIX, I think I have a small leak on it?

What makes you think you have a leak in the IM? Where do you suspect it's coming from? I ask only because there's an annoying T valve towards the firewall, off center towards the driver's side that's seemingly notorious for collappsing and causing erratic vacuum problems, if it's a small leak that you suspect, you might check there.
