After replacing so many alternators and batteries I am convinced it is the wiring to my alternator that is causing me problems. Heres the issue..... we never saw where the original wire ran to from the original alternator because someone else got their grubby hands on it before we realized the issue. So, I bought a pigtail for the alt. It came with 3 wires (brown/white, brown/red and a big red wire).... I have looked at the schematics and..... I THINK I run that "exciter"(brown/red ) wire to my battery.... and the other 2 are not needed to make the alt function?????.... can anyone possibly look at theirs to help me out or any advice would be GREAT!!!!
