anyone tell me a good place to get a alternator for my 87 LSC?
looked on ebay etc saw some on there for cheap and some for ALOT.
I have not had it tested yet but the voltage light is on and it will not run if you take the battery cable off the post. electrical issues bite! :soapbox:

If your car is all stock a replacement from Autozone is fine. Be sure and spend the couple of extra bucks and get the Duralast Gold, it has a lifetime warranty. As far as price goes, expect to pay about $100.

Auto Zone will test your alternator, battery and possibly the voltage regulator for free. I'd do that first before spending money on stuff that may not fix it. If it does turn out to be a bad alternator, make sure you get a replacement voltage regulator, too.

check out the mustang magazines like 5.0 or fast fords and muscle ... they have all kinds of offers in there which seem to be reasonable
