Awhile back there was a thread about a super deal on Magnaflow's Dual Cat exhaust for the '00-'02 (V6 & V8) LS at hottexhaust.com

Well, yesterday I called them back up and asked about re-opening a discount for LvC. Spoke w/ a gentleman named John. Well, after awhile talking to him, I got the magnaflow discount to be $499.97 shipped to our door.

The discount is actually $531.35, but they are having a christmas store wide discount of 6% off AND free shipping which makes the grand total $499.47.

YOU CAN NOT BEAT THIS DEAL ANYWHERE!!!!
Original price is ~$700... That's a savings of $200

The only hitch is that magnaflow is out-of-stock until mid-jan. So you'll have to wait to receive them till then. BUT! John advised that you can buy them now while they're at a discount and free shipping and you will not get billed until the item is shipped.

Here is the link! http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=LVC15710

you guys can thank me later. ;)

FINALLY!!! I'm gonna have a new exhaust!! WOOO HOOOO!! Just the thing to match the new rims&tires, and LSK intake I just got!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!

going to talk the wife into it right now! only bad thing is, they said they wouldnt be ready to ship until 1st week of January. I want it tomorrow.

This is the same deal i got my exhaust from. its a great deal i suggest anyone possibly in the market for one should look into it.

My brother works for a large exhaust distributor that carries Magna-Flow and I got mine for only a little less then that. That is a great price and the exhuast is a quality piece.

FYI it is 2.25" piping not the 2.5" that Magna-Flow says, no biggie but they have it advertised wrong and don't seem to care. I called and ragged on them.

How is this exhaust different from my 2006 ?

Is it true that the 06 won't gain as much (or any) from an after market exhaust ? I thought I had read that on another thread here.
Is so, Is it that the 06 exhaust is just well matched to the motor for back pressure and restriction ?

Cat back sale

Yeah, I mentioned to my wife after opening all of the presents this morning, that the Magna Flow catback was only $500 right now. She said "really, that's $200 less than you said it was". I as calmly as possible said "yeah, that's a pretty good deal right now". She said, "well, do you want it?". I burned a hole in the carpet from running from the living room to my computer. Cat back ordered, standing by for delivery!

It's my understanding that Magnaflow didn't continue to produce cat-back systems for the LS for models 03 forward, since there was no appreciable HP gain vs. 03 - 06 OEM systems.

At this moment, Magnaflow does not produce an exhaust for the 2nd Gen LS ('03-'06) because their original prototype was only producing an increase of ~5hp. (T_Man has their only prototype installed on his '06, IIRC.)

In January, this is supposed to change. Magnaflow has supposedly redesigned their 2nd Gen LS cat-back exhaust system, and is getting much better (10-15 hp?) results. There's a thread about it around here somewhere...

for those who went out n bought the magnaflow, you'll love it. i know i do

happy new years to all

Below is a reply I got from my inquiry to MagnaFlow about the listing on their website of an 03-up cat-back system for the LS "coming soon". I received this e-mailed responce on December 7th...

Hello Nathan,
System 16678 is scheduled to be in production in about 8-10 weeks. There
are currently no specs available for the system at this time but please
check back with Magnaflow.com in the future.

So in theory, we're looking at about 5-7 weeks still until they start production.

That is their canned response. I was told by my rep that to expect the 03+ system this month. They boasted claims that the system will give an additional 12-15 HP and have dyno numbers showing 19HP increase. However, until I see the actual dyno chart I'll hold off my judgement but they wouldn't build it if it didn't produce good numbers.

Well, on the up side, it will atleast have a little sound to it!! I assume you're going to carry it when it comes out? Any idea's on price?

No word on price but my guess is the $700 range. I will carry it on our website. I have asked Magnaflow for good pricing initially to move them. Let's see if they give it to me.

Well, if the price turns out to be pretty reasonable you'll get an order from me! Not sure if $700 is going to be high on the priority list as of yet; I've got cryogenic powerslot rotors to buy still at $150-ish a piece (full set). But I check your website pretty often; if the inital price is really good ($500-600 range) I'll snag one right away. If not, around march-ish

Magna Flow CatBack on the way!

Just got a FedEx tracking number for my Magna Flow system, expected delivery tomorrow. In words of Herman Munster - oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!

I scratching my head in every direction I can, but still can't figure out how to convince the wife. Brib's aren't working this time. She's ALL against it, or I would have already been all over this $500 deal a LONG time ago.:Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang :Bang

wow and they went up also at LS Koncepts, to bad b/c i was going to get a set, now i think im just going to replace the mufflers, put an x pipe and take off the resonators.
