I have a black LS which is by far the best color :N I dont like the look of the amber light on the front bumper and want to tint it black. Does anybody know the laws regarding this particular light and what its purpose is ?

the little sidemarker bulb? i believe its there to let drivers along the side know where you car is. or something like that. i tinted mine, and love it. at first i drove the car for 8 months not knowing that theyre supposed to light up. ive never been pulled over or even questioned about them. heres a pic of what itll look like.

Exactly, looks awesome. I want to paint them though, they seem pointless. If the 03+ dont have them then why would my 02 even be questioned ? I hate the candy corn orange against the slick black and chrome.itsnotmydaddys said:

The 03+ have the amber reflector within the headlight housing itself. Technically I think tinting them would be illegal because it wouldn't be reflective anymore, but who knows. As far as anyone actually enforcing it, you would have to really piss off a cop to have them be that anal.

this is a DOT standard - so technically it's illegal everywhere - but you'll only be caught in states where there are inspections - or if it is deemed the cause of an accident.

Within this standard is there a certain minimal size or something. Is there a way to do a mod with a 02 headlamp where instead of doing the normal clearing thing you can install a corner peice/reflector ? The orange reflector on the bumper has got to go.
