ambient light sensor on 2004 lincoln ls v6

my auto headlights don't automatically come on anymore.....i can manually turn them on........
i'm figuring it's the ambient light sensor....
will this part work from another model vehicle..
my friends family owns salvage yard, they didn't have any lincoln's, and had no idea if that part was same on other vehicles....
they don't have people asking for that part ever.........

AFAIK, only one from another LS will work.

i also do not know for sure, but would guess that only a sensor from another LS would do it. dealer would be able to tell you for sure and give you a good reference point on pricing a new one. then just go to car-part.com and find one on there. it has searchable inventory for thousands of junk yards in one place. luckily it is a small part so even if there isnt one local the shipping wont kill ya.

call me crazy, but I would just try the right part before trying the wrong part...

doesn't seem to hard to find with a 10 sec search...
