For the time being... I have decided to install my current amp and subs that I had in my old car into my LS. I would like to use the stock stereo and outputs.. the only thing is that I am not sure which wires going into the stock amp (located on the rear decklid) go to what.

Wouldn't this be the easiest install?

Thats what I did. If you look at the wires they are self explanitory

I guess they are not self-explanatory enough.. I can tell which is power and ground, but which is speaker + and -? and to be sure.. which is remote?

You need to get remote power from somewhere else. The remote turn on in the trunk is only 6V. It would not turn on my amp. I got power from a switched circuit @ the fuse panel behind passanger kick panel.

to check speaker +/- just use a voltmeter while the system is ON. make sure it's in volt mode. when you connect the voltmeter to the wires if you get a POSITIVE number then the red wire is positive, black is negative. if you get a NEGATIVE number then the red wire is negative, black is positive.

yeah, I just found that out (that remote is 6V).

also yeah I just dusted off my volt-meter this afternoon so I figure I'd put some batteries in it and test the wires tomorrow.

thanks for the help... the bump in my trunk should be rattlin' by tomorrow.

does yours still sound like sh!t scjmc?
