My wonderful husband has bestowed upon me some very fine diamond jewelry in the past few years. Every 6 months, I am required to take my pieces back to Zales for a checkup and cleaning according to the diamond bond papers. Well, today was the day to take them in.
I had my ring, earrings and necklace pass inspection. Rusty hooked the clasp on my necklace, I replaced my earrings in my ears and put the ring on my finger. About 20 minutes later, in a totally different store in another part of town, I noticed my necklace was missing. I thought my husband was going to have heart failure right there. We retraced every step, and with the help of many wonderful strangers, along with the salespeople from Zales, helped us look for my lost necklace. My necklace was a 3/4 carat three-stone diamond necklace on a 14k yellow gold wheat chain. It would have been EASILY spotted by anyone.
After a futile search, our name and number left an numerous stores, and Jen, our wonderful saleslady at Zales said she would contact me if someone turned it in to any of the stores near her if she should get it back.
Needless to say, my husband spent the afternoon beating himself up for not making sure the spring ring was closed on my necklace. I knew he was heartbroken and upset and so was I, but I didn't want him to feel any worse than he did, so I told him to not worry about it and I planned to put an ad in the paper on Monday offering a reward for its return.
We were telling my Dad what happened when he got home this evening. It wasn't five minutes later that Jen called me from Zales. A gentleman had found my necklace on the floor of Zales and returned it.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to share that one honest gentleman in Russellville, gave me, my husband and my family the most wonderful Christmas gift, the gift of honesty!
Merry Christmas Everyone! Keep the faith!
