i got this job because of the honda i repainted. this one was also recently laid down butnot nearly as bad as the honda. i just started on it today the blue will be the same, front fender will stay black, and the white you see will be changed to black also. few pics so far.

nice!!! unfortunatley on the way home from the airport today I saw a road blocked off because a Civic with a 10 foot high wing killed a person on a sport bike. Looked like a innocent accident but still sucks.

Word of mouth huh ?

I am sure there is alot of those bike to repaint.
Squids drop those things all the time.

ran into a snag at the paint supply, that blue turns out to be factory suzuki Mica Blue Candy, ouch candy???????? not my cup of tea i have never sprayed candy, and never want to lol my 2 stage paints are what im used to and i'll stick with it. i called the owner of the bike to tell him that just a pint of the factory paint was gonna cost $150 bucks without clear, YOWWWW!!!!! so i grabbed the chroma base chips and matched up dodge viper blue like on the gts's almost a dead match but a simple 2 stage. the owner is happy on this decision instead plus it will be much easier to match, and a qt only cost 37 bucks, thats more up this guys alley!!! bike should be painted by thursday hopefully i'm home for supper and making killer time on the bike so far. i'll update with new pics tomorrow if i get some free time.

and to correct the bike it is a GSX600F Katana not a GSXR. its all the same death trap to me lol!

Jamie I get a kick out of my customers that bring the cars in for a Kustom paint candies pearls whatever than the estimate comes to $10,000, then I show them bc/cc for $4000. I think alot of them think it cheap to do this kinda work. Wish I could just step into the booth and spray instead of the hours a pone hours of prep. I love it though and won't stop till my arms fall off.

yeah when i found out the price on the stock paint and called him he nearly hung up, but its cool im glad he isnt one of these anal bike owners, he said just do the base/clear and we'll call it a day, i said trust me in the long run it will be much better if you lay it down again it will be cake to match the paint, you're not matching candy unless you repaint the whole bike again lol. this guy came to me after seeing the RC-51 i just painted so this might work out for me, because this kid hangs out with a ton of bikes every weekend they all meet in clearwater at a parking lot known as " the lot " i think i need to make up some business cards even though i dont do this for a living, it may be time to start!!

Keep it a hobby much more pleasure in it. Alot easier to deal with people when you don't need the job to pay the bills. Some thing I noticed on the newer bc/cc paints, since they have become so vibrant they do re-act to the color primer underneath. On my sons GXR I used white and dark gray primer. The dark I put in alot of the indentations in the bodywork and it gives the appearance of a candy.

well painting is done, finished around 11:30 tonight started priming around 8 oclock. its now viper blue and the front and rear fenders are smoked charcoal metallic black, looks sharp, but the camera went dead as i was taking pics of everything finished and cleared so this is as far as i got on pics. tomorrow i should have the bike all back together then i can wet sand and buff it all and put back on some of the factory decals. considering the factory mica blue is a 3 stage candy, and the viper blue i sprayed is a 2 stage, thats about as close as you could get for it looking the same, it almost looks like the blue wasnt repainted, minus the damage!

heres the final pics of the bike today after i repainted the rear grab bar and installed it. he came and got it today and was blown away, seriously i am not trying to make my work sound amazing, this kid was absolutely blown away, he loved it and couldnt stop walking around it looking. he loved my choice of color on the fenders too, he was expecting a plain old black, but i went the extra mile and sprayed the smoked metallic charcoal black on them instead and he loves it. very cool kid i am happy i got to make him that happy. he must have said thank you 100 times!!!
he's getting the rip in the seat fixed next week too.
