Another CD changer question.

Do they make adapter harnesses to fit aftermarket cd changers to my Mark VIII? I am trying to connect a Panasonic (DP610) unit to my car. The panasonic has a round connector on it, then a harness that used to connect it to a Volkswagen. I do not know what the connector looks like for the Mark VIII...I have the 10 disc factory unit in there now....I haven't had a chance to take the old one out yet.
Thanks.

Anyone know what the plug on my cd changer looks like? Is it a 13 pin one?
Mine does NOT have the box on top of it, if that makes a difference.

Have you ever taken the radio out or a car with a premium sound system? It looks exactly like the stock amp plug-in that goes into your stock radio. Not sure if its a 13 pin. I think mespock has a changer wired up to his stock radio, not sure though.

No, I have never taken one out before. I did locate the plug right by the taillight, and it's nothing like the one on the panasonic. I had seen a cd changer on ebay that was from a lincoln that had a connector like it and I was hoping mine would be the same. Maybe I'll stop by Best Buy or something and see if they have any kind of adapter.

I don't think they make a harness to do what you want. My CD changer took a crapper and I went looking for a cheaper what to put in a different changer.

I am not sure if a Sony changer would fit as the Mark VIII changer is made by Sony.

To remedy my problem first I put in a Kenwood in-dash CD player that I had laying around. That solved my CD problem. Then I purchase a JVC 12 Disc changer. I am running it through an FM modulator. The JVC FM modulator is pretty good and doesn't effect the quality as bad as other units that I have listened too through FM modulators.

Right now I am looking for a JVC in-dash unit as the JVC Changer will play through JVC in-dash units which offer that option. My problem is I'm always looking for the right deal.

I do have the Changer cable from my old Changer it's still in the car. I doubt the Panisonic cable will fit your factory Ford radio.

It looks like it would work. The door looks like it's broken. I don't know of any Changers that have an un-attached door. I would send a message to the seller and just double check the working conditions of this unit.

If you like I'll send you my old unit if you would like to see if it would work or if you'ld like to try to get it to work. You can hear it run. I just get a CD error message or No CD message when I would try to use it. I don't have a cartrage anymore gave that to someone else.
