Good morning folks,

I bought a pair of Philips Vision 3157 LED's for the Tail/Brake bulbs of my '03 Sport. I haven't gotten around to switching them out because I want to be prepared before I start. I need to get them put in since I have a brake bulb burned out now (and yet the system check refuses to acknowledge it lol).

Basically, I'm wondering if anyone has tried the "plug and play LED decoders" that are on FleaBay, the ones that are already wired with 3157 blades and sockets so no modification to the existing wires is required. I want to make sure that they'll keep me from frying my brake pedal switch, provide the right resistance, and avoid hyper flash. And I like that they are just an add-on that I can remove down the road and go back to incandescent.

Any thoughts?

I can tell you that there is no danger at all of "frying my brake pedal switch." There is no connection between the brake pedal switch and the brake lights. Instead, the danger would be frying your REM (Rear Electronics Module). That's what drives the brake light bulbs.

Thanks, Joe. I guess I'm still more familiar with my F-150 than my LS. Regardless, that's another module I don't want to "fry."

Just thought of another question...there seems to be two different styles of these out there, and I can't remember now; does our Gen 2's have tail/brake light sockets with 3 alignment tabs or 2?
