My antenna has never worked 100%
Sometimes it stayed down the whole day
sometimes went up never went back down when I powered it off.

Anyway, the past week it just doesn't move at all and a long annoying sound
like a motor turning is coming from my trunk whenever i press the power button on my radio. Its very annoying and I am going bizerk. I opened the trunk and tried to wiggle the antenna around to get it to stop but that didn't help haha. Anyone else had this problem? or offer any help?

There is a cord with cog like notches inside the antenna, the sound is the motor trying to grab the cord which is broken. Your only option is to replace the antenna, its very easy I did it on my Tbird and it took about 20 mins.

this is true no fix to it just r&r...threr cheep.an easy to install, just make sure you get a fully automatic one,

the replacement mast is a F3AZ-18A886-A and has a list of 59.37 and LVC is $42.74 plus ups...the complete antenna and motor is a F3LY-18850-A listed at $174.12 and LVC is $125.36. Plenty of each on hand. I Always sell the mast though!!.

You can also get for a crown vic for half that, at pepboys its a little longer but it works and does the job well.

Check EBAY, all you need is the antenna and cord, just installed mine. Cost was around $15.00. Took the housing apart, removed the old line and applied some white grease. Works great.

same here (ebay), easy fix

You may have to cut about 5 inches off of the antenna cord if the new antenna sticks. Mine did.

On the ebay masts... I have had two that had the cord separate from the mast. Leaving the antenna at odd postions. Let alone, not fully extending all the way to the top. Or all the way down. The local gas staion car wash had brought this last failure to my attention.

EBAY Antenna worked great for about 2 weeks, at least it was cheap, but like most items from EBAY, nothing but junk.
