So i bought some Motorcraft plugs for my 05 LS V6 and right before i put them in i noticed that on the box it states " gap must be adjusted to vehicle specs " Is it hard to gap spark plugs.. ive never had to manually gap plugs before. any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT *** Figured it out before with a simple search lol..

For anyone else...

You just bend the J-shaped prong towards or away from the center/straight prong to meet the appropriate gap (meaning you'll need a gap measuring tool, preferably NOT the angled coin kind)

For non-standard plugs (iridium, platinum, and just good practice), don't use a flat tip screwdriver between the two prongs. You don't want to damage the straight/center one.

Then, you've been putting plugs in with the wrong gap. Even the plugs that say they are already set to the right gap are often wrong. I usually find at least two or three that are wrong in a box of eight.

And just be somewhat gentle with the gap tool and when measuring the gap. You don't want to leave any gouges or marks on the plug. Can cause a hot spot and misfiring. The gauge should just barely slide between the two electrodes without you having to force it or it wobbling around. Plus on some plugs like double platinum plugs the ground electrode (outer one you adjust) is plated and excessive force or bending can cause it to chip or crack.
