Mine is acting up and the local dealer qouted me 900 to do it(LOL). Any help would be much appreciated.

Dual Climate Control Valve. You know this goes bad when one side blows hot air and the other side blows cold air.

I Am also interested in this mine still does it! i am going to the dealer possibly tomorrow to ask about my tranny and this a/c business, if its gonna be 900 bucks i wanna do it myself too!!!!

Mine has done this a few times in the last couple of months. Turning the car off and back on has resolved it every time. I am *DREADING* the day that it doesn't.

Be sure to post info about your replacement! I'll be watching.

It also fixes it if you run your temp from 90to60 an then set it on your desired temp. My dealership told me the part was a coolant control valve located under the hood right behind the radiator. so that is the part that i bought

Did you replace it yourself or did the dealer do it for you?

I recently changed mine. It wasn't too bad of a job(couple of hours start to finish), just make sure that you put the hoses back the same way you took them off. I prefer to start with the hardest one first. You might look on AllData if you have a subscription, they have detailed instructions on how to change it.

Don't replace just yet

The DCCV is located just behind the radiator on the passenger side of the car. Look straight down for a device with three one-inch hoses attached to it just hanging in the air. It has two cylinders on top which are the solinoids. These open and close regulating the water flow thru the device. Bosch products..........anyway these things get crapped up because they are moving parts. I took a long handled screw driver and tapped on each one of the cylinders a few times and never had the problem again.

They told me that my antifreeze was dirty so this might also have something to do with it also. Right?

This is great advice. CHANGE THE COOLANT. This will really help future problems. Maintain the car first! These cars use different color antifreeze. Make sure you use the correct type. Check your owners manual. My 2003 has the yellow. You now have the green the orange and the yellow. Supposedly the yellow can be used with anything else and Ford is moving to this more and more?

I have yellow in my Cobra and you aren't supposed to mix that with anything else. You are supposed to stay with the same coolant. If you have orange, I would consider a complete flush of the system and changing it to green or yellow.

interesting... my car does it also... and it's getting worse... there is a tsb for it, i was told the part was somewhere on the firewall behind the engine and was a bastard to deal with....anyone have the tsb... come on dealer guys, post it....
