I just replaced all my front suspension and took my lower control arms off but reused them as they were fine. When I took it to get aligned they said they couldn't do it because I didn't have eccentric bolts for the LCA's. I just put the stock bolts back in. The body is slotted though I would think they could just loosen the bolts and knock it where they need it to be. I replaced it all with stock parts and its not lowered so I don't really know why I would need eccentric bolts?

Not sure. The service manual says to put them in (add them) if the LCA is removed/replaced.

The eccentrics are only necessary for certain lowered setups. If they can't get a good alignment with stock bolts (with stock springs and stock height tires) then something is wrong.

The shop is just being lazy. With the stock bolts, you loosen, use a pry bar to shove the arm around, tighten, recheck, and keep repeating. With eccentrics, the bolt is effectively keyed, so they loosen, turn the bolt a bit, tighten, recheck. They have a lot more control over how the arm moves and can keep it in a designated place easier.

Exactly, and with these setups, changing any of the settings with the LCAs also throws Toe adjustment out, so being able to keep them snug but movable as you can with cam bolts is the way to fly. If you are keeping the car, you should get some. I believe that they can also help to maintain the alignment settings due to the fact that they would need to be loose in order to allow the bushing to move locations from shock. Like I said in your other thread, make sure that if you get them, do not allow them to be tightened to normal spec as the bolts will strip at the high torque used on regular bolts. They have flat spots on them to keep them on the eccentric washers and they will not tolerate std torque value.

I ordered some moog bolts from rock auto. I guess I will throw them in when they get here. The car isn't lowered or anything and I know the body is slotted for the bolts to move so I wasn't sure why I would of needed them.

It's certainly not a bad idea, nor a complete waste of time. Might want to look for a more dedicated shop though.

Note that the bolts are VERY over-length. I installed mine, got the nuts on, then hacked several inches off with a cutoff wheel. They do get in the way with something, but I forget what.

If nothing else, take it to the Lincoln dealer and ask them to align it. They should be able to do the job even if nobody else can.

my alignment guy had zero issues with getting the front aligned with factory bolts.
i'd take it somewhere else.
