I was thinking of getting the carbon fiber dash kit off of the LSK website.
Just wondering if anyone has this on an 00-02 LS with the black interior.
Could someone post some pics so I can see what it looks like?
Thanks.

Is it an aftermarket kit, or is it the Carbon Fiber look vinyl?
I wrapped my dash in the Carbon Fiber look vinyl ( frpm lsk) and I get a ton of compliments on it. I did the doors as well, by the doors and dash I mean all the wood trim pieces. I also have a real carbon Fiber shift knob and it all sets the dash of well. If u need pics let me know.

Check out his (00ls5spd) gallery, there's a pic of it there and it looks pretty good.

Ya its the one on LSK that i was looking at. I looked at the one pic in your gallery. Looks good. Do you have any more pics? How hard is it to put on? Does it fit pretty good or did you have to do some cutting??

The carbon fiber vinyl is different than the carbon fiber dash kit. The vinyl requires you to apply the vinyl and cut it to fit. The dash kits are just stick on. Of course, the dash kits do not cover the existing wood in the car. You would need to use the vinyl for that. I posted on here a how to on installing the vinyl on the existing dash pieces. Just search on my user name and carbon fiber conversion.

I test-drove the new MKX yesterday. I LOVE the interior option on the one i drove - Aluminum look around the Heated seat controls/head unit/etc. and a very light wood on the wheel/doors/dash trim. Just an idea for a new kit maybe?

Here are the pictures and instructions I made some time ago. I sell the carbon fiber vinyl to do this job if anyone wants to tackle the project. You can get it here:

Here's how to remove the existing wood pieces off of the door panels. This how to is only for the 2000-2002 LS's. I don't know how the pieces are attached to the 2003 and up LS's.

Actually taking the existing wud pieces off wasn't that bad. On each door panel the wud strip is held on by 13mm nuts AND there is three plastic studs that are melted onto the door panel. The three plastic studs are easy to Dremel off and really don't add any support to the wood pieces once it's re-intalled. Here's a picture of the back side of the driver side door.

Once you have removed all of the nuts and plastic studs you will have to remove the Memory Seat Switch and the Door Lock Switch to get the complete unit out.

Here's what it should look like once you have taken out the existing wud unit:

To cover the power window piece it's easier to remove the power window unit.

You will only have to remove the Door Lock Switch on the Passenger side. Here is a picture of the inside of the Rear Driver side panel. Note that there is not any washers to take out only the 13mm nuts and the plastic studs. There isn't a lock switch mechanism to take out. It's on the arm rest.

Here's what the existing wud piece looks like once off of the door panel:

Also, remove the power window unit to cover the piece.

How much vinyl would be required to redo all dash and doors in a '02 LS?

how do you take off the wood piece in the dash in front of the passanger side (on top of the glove box). and also the one by the steering wheel.

The passenger one just pops out, pull it. I don't know about the other one.

The one above the glove box just pops off. Pull straight out. The two pieces on both sides of the steering wheel pop off as well. However, you will need lower the bottom cowel piece to get them out. The pieces tuck behind the cowel. Be careful with the piece where the ignition is.

I have it in my car. I didnt do all the doors though, because I didnt know if a vinyl would match up with the kit pieces. IMO it doesnt look to bad with the wood... One day I will get all the wood covered up, but right now im going through a big move and new job, still trying to get setteled up.
Ill post pics up in a min...

now i remember. one of the other reasons i didn't want to do this was because of my steering wheel. it is the wood one and if i do the cf look then the steering wheel would look out of place.

Did my entire dash minus the center (only ashtray area) in silver vinyl this weekend. Took several tries. A decent amount of small imperfections. Tried heat guns and a second pair of hands, and I'm still not 100% happy with the application. However, it looks great...

And yes, I cleaned it as good as I could.

I Got The Vinyl From Lskonceps And I Need Some Help. I Was Woundering If Anyone Knows How Do The Corners Without It Bunching Up And Creasing? I Tride One Dash Piece And I Do Not Under Stand How Not To Let This Happen. Am I Able To Use A Heat Gun And If So Will This Help? Thanks In Advance For Anyones Help With This Matter.

wow those vinyl jobs look great!

i got the stock "carbon fiber" inserts on the door panels and dash, and have always wanted wood.. but the more i notice how common wood is in these cars the more i want to keep the "carbon fiber"

i bought the woodgrain vinyl kit for my LS a long time ago, but test fitting them it doesnt look good at all because the silver plastic shows through the holes in the vinyl(hard to explain) and just doesnt look good at all. Looks cheesy. So now im looking for a real stretchable vinyl that i can cut myself either in carbon fiber or woodgrain to get in all the nooks and crannies to fill any voids and holes.

Hey torx... Nice mod on the tail lights! I haven't seen that before. How did you color the top? I'm assuming they were the stock twotone to begin with...

Yes, you can use a hair dryer or similar to lay down the corners. The vinyl is just like window tint in the way you can apply it. Using soapy water on both the part and the vinyl helps with applying the vinyl.

I have been getting some questions on how to remove the existing wud trim from the doors on the 00-02 LS. Here is a document I put together a while back.
