anyone know about Contours

right now I am trying to sell my wifes 94 mark viii, and I was thinking about
Contour , anyone know about these cars?

with the rainy season coming up (and the fact that she ended up on a lawn in my car only going 15 mph) costing me about $1k to fix my self last feb , I want to get her out of the power of 4.6 32v .

so what should I look for once my 8 sells ,

reason I post Mark VIII , you guy know you stuff and ls guys know about putting TV's in cars

How about a Focus? not much power on the bottom end, but the thing can scoot and handle!! This has been scientifically verified on I-10 past Palmsprings... Mind you this was only for scientific research...no driver had "fun" doing this...it was completely professional....

I had a '98 Contour Sport SE 5sp. - traded it and a '01 Escort in for the LS. It was a nice car, the rear end was too light, because of the frt wheel drive.

I would look into Taurus SHO's Excellent cars for the wife. You may want to drive it to. It is V8 Front wheel drive, and there are clubs like LVC for the SHO as well. Check out these pics.

Not "I want to put her in a bad ass sedan.."

I'd get her a Park Avenue or maybe Town Car. Those are some reliable tanks.. whereas the Contour is kind of a POS. Not a HUGE POS but still a POS.

Those SHOs are great- but they aren't easy to work on, and they are expensive to repair.

They also are beginning to suffer from the Ford habit of discontinuing important parts.

I have driven the SVO Contour and it was pretty nice, I don't know about the regular one's.

contour has to be 1 of the biggest mistakes in engineering.

it looks ok, handles ok, has piss poor build quality.

The SVT Contours are nice. That's it. And they're only good in the stick version.

If you want your wife to have a Mondeo-based Ford like the Contour, let her try the 99+ Mercury Cougar. It's the same car, but built better. My mother owns one, and she's quite happy. It's definately a chick car...

Well I guess it's a crap shoot with anything...

Contours are the same as the Mystique or otherwise know as the Mercruy Mistake. Watch out after about 60K on these I've heard...

Almost bought one in 04 but bought a 93 Mark VIII instead... look what that lead to..
