Anyone know where silver side moulding insert can be found

The silver side moulding is pitted , discolored, and protective plastic covering is peeling from years of Minnesota winters. Is this something that can be bought and reinserted in the moulding ??

i dont think there is a direct replacement but people have had good results with something like a chrome weather strip
