He can't just yet. I think May 22nd or 23rd, he'll be able to announce, if he still wants in the game. I'm wondering now if he'll even get in. I would just like to see him get in the debates and then see who wins the stage.
He's a showman and a blowhard.
He may well be a presence but he has no substance.
You tuned out after 20 min and I could be wrong but I haven't heard anything from those that did show tonight mention what Trump has been saying until tonight. Of course drilling was the main thing that most want. I really believe that if anyone could make that into reality, it would be Trump.
Why could Trump accomplish anything?
Every time Trump gets into specifics, he sounds absolute moronic. Swearing at the Chinese isn't going to improve our balance of trade.
Getting into a trade war with the Chinese as we are walking the tightrope of economic collapse is not a good idea.
He may be saying things that elicit a positive, emotional response from frustrated voters, but there's nothing there.
It actually reminds me of the way voters projected onto Obama in the last election. Whatever they felt, whatever they wanted, they just projected it upon the candidate Obama.
Fact is- the guy is not fit to be President.
Trump is a marketer. That's what he does. If we were selling crappy merchandise with "USA" printed on it, we could consider going to him. However, he has no philosophical foundation and his foreign policy knowledge is pitiful.
He's either very, very ignorant-
or an opportunistic marketing guy who is condescendingly pandering to both the poorly informed segment of the population and the group that just wants to be inspired and love his fighting attitude.
You might be surprised by that man when he gets the chance to speak his mind up on the stage. Him using the F word the other night didn't help things but I'm sure they all say it behind closed doors. I like for someone to speak their mind and he does just that. Again, he may never even choose to run, time will tell.
I don't care that he used the "F" word, I care that everything else that he communicated in that excerpt was stupid.
Trump is done with the birth certificate deal now. He only wanted it to be shown and now that it has been, he hasn't brought it up again and in his last few interviews, he didn't bring it up, the interviewer brought it up and he tried getting off of it.
A couple years ago he got into a fight with Rosie O'Donnell to generate buzz for his Mark Burnett inspired TV show too. The "birther" spin apparently was another clever marketing effort for Trump to build more buzz about his brand WHILE condescendingly pandering to Republicans.
Here's the thing with Trump, if you want a principled, articulate, bold, leader from the business world, you have Herman Caine.
You have Mitt Romney if you'd prefer one with more experience in government and in campaigns.
What does Trump bring to the table other than bravado and blow-hard behavior? Nothing. His business acumen is a testament to his marketing, not his actual understanding of economics.
Other than generic, grand statements, what does Trump stand for?
Historically, he's always had his finger in the wind. The guy is a progressive, if he even knew what the term meant.
The specifics he's made during this campaign are ignorant, like a 25% tariff on goods from China. Or trying to bully the Saudis.
And he's notorious for contradicting himself. That's what happens when you have no principles short of self-promotion.
The guy is side-show. Anything Trump pretends to be is offered, in better versions, by any of those guys on the stage last night.
Honestly, everyone should ask themselves what Trump stands for. What principles and philosophy of government does he embrace.
