Can anyone guess what failed in the transmission? I saw needle bearings and what looks like part of a bearing housing? It resembles train tracks going around a curve.

This explains why I couldn't get out of 1st gear.

Man I have no idea what that is but it can't be good. My only trans experience is in and out...not apart.

Mine didn't like going into overdrive sometimes without letting of the throttle. Drove it for about 20k like that getting worse and worse before swapping it out at 204k. Thats where the parts car car in.

Bummer dude

Looks like a torrington bearing to me.

And Lentech http://www.lentechautomotive.com/ built a killer AOD for me back in 2002, no problems with it so far. If I had to order the tranny over, I would go back to the 2 piece input shaft design and get the hardened shafts as I no longer have a lock up converter with the 1 piece shaft, and it has dropped my MPG's.
