What I have in mind is an exhuast and a chip. Are there other mods the won't hurt my Gas mileage but it would get me to mid to low 14s?

A chip is almost a sure-fire way to decrease gas mileage. However the exhaust will help your mileage, as well as an intake kit of some sort. Underdrive pulleys will also help your gas mileage.

Wait, from what its posted, a chip increases 1 MPG.(LMS) What I heard is that Underdrive pulleys is not good for a Mark VIII but I might be wrong. Ok so Chip, exhaust, pulleys and an intake. Would those mods put me in 14.5?

Yes those mods should make you run mid 14's however you can't install pulleys that easily on a 96-98 Mark VIII because of the air pump in the way. If you get rid of it, you will get a CEL so have it turned off with the chip.

I would think close to that with a GenII. All should improve MPG.

A chip is going to change your programing and decrease your mpg. The other mods with help it. Overall with chip, intake, exhaust, pulley you will still get better gas mileage than stock.

I had a LMS chip in my first Mark a 96 base and seemed to get better MPG. The LMS mass air unit and chip were the only two mods in the car and I would get 30MPG for some of my highway trips, mostly 27-29, and could easily average 21-23 mixed driving. My mixed driving in that car was more highway than city but I don't think it ever went under 20.

NOS sticker, AEM intake sticker, K&N sticker, Summit Racing Sticker, Jegs Sticker, SVO sticker, or any other go fast sticker has been known to be good mods that will not reduce fuel economy. plus I hear you get 10 hp per sticker...

...not sure on that one but thats what all of the ricers I see tell me...

I would like to have the power all the time, so nitrous is not what I will be doing.
Thanks for the help guys

more mods = more fun to drive = more fun to get on = trying to wipe out everone at every stoplight = suceeding in wiping people out = decreased mileage :D

Isn't this the truth..

Once you just change the exhaust.. it's harder to not get on it a little more just to hear the sound!!
