here are the pics of my unique LS showing an overspeed warning.... crazy huh

So what happens when you go any faster? The fastest I've gone in my LS was 100MPH and nothing came up.
 
I don't remember if you said you bought it new, but I would think it might have possibly been a rental car... I would ask the dealer about it.
 
i did a carfax report about 3 months ago and it had only one owner here in california....ive take the car over 135 with no problem but the cruise control light will flash
 
This is interesting. Someone must have the info on this setup. Glad it is not on mine as it would drive me crazy trying to figure out exactly what it was and how to set it at different speeds. Might be nice if you had a teenager who thought that it was making a record of their driving.:)

I sit corrected. This appears to be a dealer activated option. Your dealer should be able to remove this with their WADS. Why it was activated in the first place is another mystery.
 
I noticed in one pic the cruise light was on. Could it be that the warning is a reaction to you maybe going down hill and going over the cruise limit that the cruise is set at?

no the cruise is not set on.... it flashes on and off does not stay solid as when set to cruise...

its great to hear someone admit when they are wrong. awww if only everyone else was the same way...... it doesnt really bother me so i guess ill just leave it alone....

tell me about it was raining here in la a couple of days ago so i didnt even bother to clean it... will clean it for saturdays LS meeting...
 
That's crazy, why the hell that warning would come up at 70mph? I am glad that I don't have that message center. I have gone 135mph and nothing.

Yea Josh wash your car for the meeting or the dirty LS drivers are gonna pay for the dinner..
 
Does the car also ("ding") alert you when this happens as well? I'd talk to the dealership on this one. I drive at least 70 to work everyday. That would drive me nuts...
 
BMW's

All of my BMW's had that type of system on them. They were always setable for whatever speed I wanted to be warned at. If it is activated, there must be a way to set it. Seems like a waste to have it activated and not be able to set the speed at which you wish to be warned.

looks like your blinker was on too... maybe it's telling you to think again about turning at that speed...:eek: :D
 
ah mystery solved, 5 1/2 years later... lol,

I always though that is what it was but had no proof

a few questions though

I don't have that message center is that irregular?
(so I don't get the overspeed warning but my cruise control light does flash)

LS4me do you know if the flashing cruise control light will also stop when this option is turn off?

can we make this change ourselves, I would love to be able to play with any of the others settings also. I assume we would need a WADS system though
 
Correct - rental car dealer activanted option. I do not know if the SCT XCal2 can remove it - but you might want to ask Torrie....

otherwise - only the dealer can.

That's what I thought, those guys are always trying to find ways to keep you from destroying there cars.

this i don't have the answer for, most likely your dealership. starts around 100 km/h.

The Message Center is a V8-only item. I think it's standard on the V8, but it was not available on the V6.

True. One of my pet peeves was no message center on a $35K car! Heck, my '91 Sable had one!

I would think so. I mis-spoke earlier. It is really the WDS, not WADS. It stands for Worldwide Diagnostic Service. It ia a Ford propriatary system. You might be able to purchase the equipment, but you'd better break out your wallet!!

I can't imagine the dealer charging more than an hours labor to rectify this.
