ATC Variable Blower Motor Controller Location

In 91-92 LTCs where ATC Variable Blower Motor Controller is located?
Is it on blower motor itself or on the inner side of firewall, behind instrument panel?

I think I've got problem with it now - blower motor only works at ATC maximum speed setting, at lesser speeds it will not blow at all.

Have anybody faced similar issue?

I am a L-M tech and I am pretty sure that it is on the fire wall on the heater box. Be careful diagnosing this because this part is close to $200 and you have to splice in a new plug. Better off getting one from the junk yard sometimes.

That sucks !!! On my 1996 there's no splicing to be done, the harness connector has one or two lock tabs but when their circumvented the connector slips right out of the Speed Controller.

After that, two small plastic-tapping screws hold the Speed Controller in place, right where you mentioned. The rearward most screw is a bitch to get at due to the valve cover being too close, but it's do-able.

Mine, and I suspect Borman's, had the same problem. In my case, a bit of high-tin solder fixed her right up. :)

I've puchased it on a junk yard, replaced it, now everything works fine.
Now, the broken one I've disassmbled it - it's a very simple circuit there.
I've replaced the faulty power transistor that sits on a heatsink with a similar one and the unit has recovered. I've tested it on another LTC like mine.
As it turns out, this motor controller is quite simple to fix. It took me 30 mins of worktime.

PC-based EEC-IV diagnostics

Does anybody know - is there any affordable software and cable adapters (or schematics of such interfaces/adapters) available to read/scan trouble codes from Ford vechicles, like 91 LTC ?
I'm sure that something like this should be availble somewhere.
Hardware should not be complex - after all car VIP test connector is a serial port as well, like on a PC.

Also, where can one buy Ford Rotunda Ford cables?
I need EEC-IV engine cable for Star NGS Tester.

I see the cables on eBay now and then, I have no idea about a cheap software. A web search brings you to many laptop and pda based solutions, but I'm not too sure of the OBD1 compatability.
