So I got my JL Audio Slash Series 500/1 amp. I already had all the wires run proffesionally for a system set up.. I got two Alpine Type-R 15" from a buddy.. I hook up the amp, then get speaker wire and hook up the subs to the amp.. I turn on my LS and I can tell they are hitting... but very very weak. I also now am having an issue with the car shutting off the radio/moving seat back/etc. when I turn the key and take it out.. I have to do a number of door open/close, putting key in/key out etc. to get it to shut off..

What would cause such weak power to the subs? I made sure I had no loose cables. I tried both configurations on the sub inputs. there are two + and two -, I ran both positives from the two subs into one + hole, and the same with the two negatives from the subs into the - hole, then tried using one positive for each positive input and one negative for each negative input..

Check the level controls. JL amps have a lot of knobs and stuff.

It's not real clear how you hooked up the subs. Are they Dual Voice Coil Subs? They perform ALOT differently based on wiring methods. You probably need to look into Ohm loads for your AMP and what type of Ohm load your subs will present depending on how they're wired. For the basic wiring, this might help:

DVC subs are sometimes a pain to wire, and can be easily screwed up. Get the wiring right, and they will hit pretty hard.
