I find it curious they didn't do any slow approaches, like crawling. I wonder why.
Auto tracking turrets aren't a new thing. Hell, I know someone with a couple 50BMG auto trackers on his property. Now, granted the hardware (minus the BMGs) is a little more expensive, but the hardware is a lot tighter (no wobbling) and the software is a hell of a lot smarter. It works via optics (camera tracking), infrared (body heat) and echo-location. It also has a a nifty ballistics calculator that it uses to calculate bullet trajectory based on atmospheric conditions. Hit rate? 99.3% (IIRC).
Still, for a couple of hundred bucks, looks like a decent performer for fast moving targets. I still wonder why they didn't try a "slow" approach.
