auto temp controls

Hey everyone.........i don't have an owner's manuel and had a question about the automatic climate system. Up until a few weeks ago, my AC had always been on when the defrost was on. Now, I have to turn it on by hand instead of it just coming on automatically. Does this have anything to do with the temperature being so cold outside? Thanks a lot, everyone.

haven't dealt with this on ls yet, but yes many cars disable AC when temperatures are below a certain temp outside to protect from damaging the ac system.

My wife's old car (98 vic) w/auto climate disabled the AC compressor at low ambient temps.

Check under "tech articles" (I think) and you can download an owner's manual! If it's somewhere else here, would someone please chime in for him?

Edit: Just checked...and that's where they are. Doesn't get any better than that does it??

Yes, mine does this. Seems like the A/C turns off when the ambient temp goes below 32 degrees F.

I will be doing that........I was at work and they don't let us download docs/pdfs/etc on their computers. Thanks for the help!
