Whats up everyone? Has anyone tried to install one of these on an 03+ LS. I see that Quick LS and Silver LS have done the laptop mods but both of thier cars are 00-02. I looked at the site LogjamElectronics.com and found these:

Yeah.... so i have no clue which one of these would be compatible with the 6 Disc In Dash Cd Player..... because none of these mention the 03 LS...so if some one would please point me in the right direction to one of these or to an alternative outlet where i can find the right one....i would really really appreciate it.

Thanks Alot Dee

Dont quote me but I could I think I remember some 03 and ups doing it. I was looking into it myself cuz I miss playing MP3's and our factory in dash 6 disc sucks at playing burnt audio CD's and 6 discs isnt enough anyway when you are used to 140 songs on a MP3 CD. I have 2 20 gig MP3 players I was hoping to use in the car. Changed my mind and am going with the Eclipse AVN5495. Sorry to slightly go off subject.

Interesting that NONE of those you listed state they are compatible with an '03 LS.

I was just pondering this myself yesterday. I want to hard wire my Sirius radio since the sound really sucks when transmitting through FM.

Installed a US SPEC DFFORD1 adapter today, for 02 LS w/Alpine CD6 radio. Works great.

OK, what I went through...

I have an '00 with a CD changer in the glove box... called a slave CD changer. I was told the FRDN-AUX would work. It does, but it replaces the factory slave cd changer. I wanted to keep the changer and add the aux input for Sat radio. Can't do it with the FRDN-AUX.

My solution was the X3-FRDW which is plugged into the cd changer end of the harness to give me 3 aux inputs... it also has a nice control panel to access any of the 3 inputs at any time since the factory controls can only do so much. It arrived today, it will be in tomarrow night. I feel a tech article comming on.

If you have a radio with an in-dash single or 6 disc changer, the FRDN-AUX harness plugs into the radio where the slave CD changer harness would be to give you the aux input. You access it by selecting the CD or media buttons for the stereo control.

But, this is on the pre-'03's... so I don't know if this will work for you. Try www.discountcarstereo.com... they were a load of help in figuring this out.

Damn! based on the thread I posted before, I went and tried hitting the CD button twice in my '03 to see if it would look for an outside changer ... it does nothing. So, unless someone tells me different, I have to assume there is no harness that will allow me an auxiliary plug. :(

US SPEC DFFORD1 installed last night in my non alpine 2000 ls sport and works great. Mine did not look for an outside changer until the adapter was hooked up.
