Anyone using this setup. I was looking at the d1 but it wont play DVD and this one will.

I am going to do a double din setup with some screens and a Xbox 360 and really want something top of the line.

Thanks Guys

I'm gonna be getting the z1 at the end of this month or early next month. It is said to be one of the top nav/dvd units on the market.

i heard the eclipse one is great.. and it even has a harddrive to save music to the actual head unit.. but it doesnt have the greatest resolution

The Z1 also has that feature with the built in hard drive where are you able to save music and no need for a navi disc like the eclipse but with the pioneer, it is bluetooth ready, has a 7" screen, and the best part is that it has learning capability so that when you drive a certain route instead of what it tells you to, it will automatically use that route next time.

I wonder how long it's going to take for someone to figure out how to rig it to work while in motion. The avic-d1 won't let you do a lot while you're moving without this mod...and I would assume this is the same way. You can't even look up a POI while in motion. You have to stop. Stupid.

There is a workaround that will let you use all of the features of the D1 while in motion.

I would imagine the Z1 would be similar, since they will sell the same unit in Europe as well, where the sue happy culture is practically non-existent.

With all of the new pioneers, they have a motion sensor that detects when the vehicle is moving and won't allow you to watch a dvd while driving....but of course there is a way around that. All you need to do is look under one of the stickers on the actual unit and solder these two connections together and you are able to watch and drive at the same time. Works like a charm. I've done it a couple of times for my buddies. They say that it is gonna be around $2,700, and I think it will be well worth it.
