bad harmonic balancer?

Removing the harmonic balancer today to do the pulley install, I chipped it in 2 different locations. I noticed at idle the car idles a bit rougher, can this be due to the harmonic balancer being chipped?

It is possible, depending upon how big the chips are. I would be more concerned with cracking the balancer. I recommend getting a new balancer.

buy i new one, my friend had one that had a proven 12 hp to the wheels it was 120 for just the harmonic/pully

I'm getting the 03 Marauder harmonic balancer, it is thicker and is reccomended in the SHM book for all 6 bolt cast crank 4V applications.
