take the wheel off

take the caliper bracket off
take the rotor off.
unplug the abs sensor
remove nut and pop outer tie rod off.
remove nut pop the upper ball joint (lots of rust usually makes it very hard to remove both the upper and lower ball joint nuts, you might have to heat up the nuts untill the nylon locking ring in the nut melts out of the nut to make it easier to get it off, but be carfuell not to melt the upper ball joint boot, or you will need to replace the upper control arm, replace all the nuts with new ones)
remove the nut and pop the lower ball joint.
remove the knuckle
remove the three bolts retaining the wheel bearing/hub assembly
remove the hub from the knuckle (wich is never easy they are always seized, if you have high mileage you might want to just replace it because it will be a PITA to get off. Its not pressed in and i have had to use a 20 ton press to get most of them out, but again being carefull not to crack the plastic speed sensor housing or else you will have to replace the knuckle
Drill out the rivits hold the backing plate on to the knuckle
Transfer the backing plate to the new knuckle (make sure to order the right rivits from the dealer.
Transfer the wheel bearing to the new knuckle, dont forget to loctite the bolts.
Re Assemble in the reverse order.
It may appear to be an easy task but some can be a real PITA to do.
