i have the 1998 Cadillac Deville Concourse, and I have been having major battery problems, a few months back the car started to just die after siting for only a 2-3 day strech. so we replaced the battery and the problem went away for a while, then just a month ago it started to do the same thing so we brought it to the garage and the alternater was fried, so we replaced the alternator. Again the problem went away for about a week then it started up with the dieing after sitting for only a day. we used a ammeter to check current draw and meashured 3.8A. While the engine was off. we had noteiced in the past a hiss from the speakers when the car was off and the key out, we pulled the fuse from the amplifire (AMP30A) located in the trunk. The current draw droped slightly and the hiss went away. we let the car sit for a day and the battery was dead. so we replaced the amp fuse and pulled "Comfort" fuse current draw dropped to .4amp. We think that somthing in the "Comfort" cuircit is draining the battery. but the "Comfort" fuse cant be pulled because it controls alot on the car like securaty system, power locks and som other stuff that makes me think that it controls the air suspension. It alos controlls the radio/CD player, we dont have the changer on the CD player but we looked to get at the CD player and cant seam to get to it with out messing up the car..... Any imput perhaps one of you guys has had this same problem, or know of anything/any one that i can look up or talk to it would be good, im trying to help my dad fix this

Thank you very much Johnny cronk

I can't believe it took you so long to realize there was a parasitic draw. Time to break out the meter and a schematic and start isolating circuits.

I had the same problem in my STS. My local mechanic had the car for a year and couldn't find it. I went to the dealer and it was the Level Ride Control Head, which in my case is hard wired and doesn't not have a disconnect plug.

I think the radio is staying on myself, the amplifier is turned on by the radio. Unplug the radio controller in the trunk. Other than that you may have to run through the things that are run in the comfort fuse and unplug them one at a time and compare with your ammeter.

Oh yeah and while your at it slap your mechanic. Backhand his @ss. he made you buy a new alternator.

Katshot I knew it was parasitic draw, I just did not know were it was drawing from... thanks for you unhelpful advise. :D

Codewize we had went out and tested the air ride suspension and it is working like it should. Thansks for the idea. We found a Cadillac garage with a mechanic who said that he has run into this before and may be able to "identify" the problem in an hour of work..

I don't mean to second guess anyone but mine was working too. That's why no one could find it. The Control Head was messed up inside and was producing an intermittent draw, but there was no rhyme or reason as to when or why it happened.
