Had a flat the other night (worn out goodyears) and trying to get the first lug off, torqued the lug wrench round like a piece of licorice. I had to have my brother bring me a 4-point (+) hardened steel lug wrench and it took the MIGHT of both of us grown ass men to get those lugs off. So, now I need a lug wrench and lug nuts, as they started to slip and strip under our force. We got them off but I don't want this to happen again. Should I invest in a torque wrench and just stop letting mechs over power them with their impact tools?

What size is the lug? I assume an extra slim socket would be necessary?

I had one that did the same thing on one of my LS's a while back. It had sat for awhile when I bought it, so they were pretty set on not coming off... With a hardened star, a cheater bar, a buddy, and some beer. we finally got them all...

Yeah i think most use a chysler replacement, but I'm not 100% on that, I'm sure someone will chime in!

If those are original lugs, they need to be replaced. Common problem is they corrode or something. Idk, search. Some of mine had to be broken off by the dealer with the previous owner.

The Chrysler lugs actually stick through the back of the stock Lincoln rims a little. If the brake rotors don't have the factory relief around the lugs then the lugs could bottom out without torquing the wheel down. Was shown that up in St. Louis. The Jag wheels evidently don't have this issue. The chrysler lugs are also 21mm which means you need to throw a different lug wrench in the trunk.

They do look nice since they are a bigger bodied lug though. They are also a single piece and chrome plated so they are impact friendly. :)

Chrysler Sebring lug nuts, part # MB579290.

I got rid of the stock lug nut wrench, and have a 1/2" drive SK breaker bar with IIRC a 13/16" 12 point deep well socket from SK.

For some reason they don't work with the '06 wheels. I'm not sure about the 7-star wheel.

I have the stock twin-7-spoke 17" rims found on most '03 Premiums. So pektel, the part you listed should work?

Boy they don't give lug nuts away...haha

I need a new set myself...I have to use a 4 way to even get them on and off.

I don't use anything else.
