I (like all LS owners) am experiencing the infamous misfires. I want to know what is the best coil pack I can get, and where can I get it? Money is no matter, I just want this problem to go away. Is there a better aftermarket pack, or should I stick with the factory packs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you.

Are you in St.Pete, FL? I would just get it from Lincoln or OEM.

Maxx, from Five Star Ford is great to deal with.

Thanx Jay. I am in St.Pete. Have u had to replace a lot of coil packs too? I am just trying to find a way to get them to last longer than a few months. I hate having to get my car serviced. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. If you ever need any stereo equipment, look me up. I am the salesman at Audio Itch.

Whats your name? One of my friends had all his stuff done there a while back though. We were sent there by another friend named Amit aka Plum who had an Accord at the time.

Well I just recently replaced 4 coils on the passenger side to no prevail of solving my problem. Since I did not have a CEL come on I could no pinpoint the problem so I tired the passenger side first because its easier hoping I could cure the problem. I guess the next step would be to replace the driver side but I hoping a CEL comes on now so I dont have to waste more money.

What year and engine size is your LS? I work over in St.Pete and Audio Itch is on my way home (275 North) I could stop by one day and check your car out.

I have a 2000 v8. I work on tuesdays and thursdays and the weekend. My name is Andy. My car is still under warranty, but I don't know who I should take it to.

hey guys , new guy here but NOT with LS but a JAG ...anyway im keeping up with your posts here and i must say that very strange for coils to go out like that..i bought my 00 Jag 4.0 2 years ago as used with 48k miles, right now it has 66k, all i did was changed the spark plugs to denso iridium and never ever had any problems with misfiring, maybe the solution lies in the spark plugs...ohh and another thing, back in the days when i was in a VW guru we did had find a replacement company for our stock failing coils i belive comapny named Plasma ignition or something like that they made them better and also produced bigger spark.... try researching on the web

from what I've heard on this site, besides the block, our engine has pretty much nothing in common with the jag engine. I may be wrong though.

hehehe yeah i found that out the hard way...i ordered the intake from LLSCOC and it didnt wanted to go in, i matched it with LS and it looks like on jags the pipe come out of the throttle body at about 65degrees meanwhile on LS its 90degrees, so i had to cut the end to accomodate the angle, barely fitted...but it there and love the sound/gain ....im thinking coils should be the same in both cars...

welcome aboard

The proble you have is rather common and you might get the run around from the dealer and they typically do not cover the CoPs. If it turns out they don't you should check with maxx at 5 star down in my signature and they have a link on the right hand side of the web page.

If we have too we can get tome tampa/st pete folks together and do the wok on your car becasue it will save you some serious cash.

If you get urge please joing the SE chapter the links are in my signature. Check the SE section out. It seems we have a lot of SWFL members so maybe w can get together soon.
