Best Performing spark plug for Mark VIII ?

What is the best SparkPlug for the Mark VIII? I have been using Motorcraft Platinums but wondered of a better performing plug?

So far removed center converter, left the other 2, put high flow exhaust, computer chip, converted a conal air filter on stock MAF, putting on new wires and coil packs and will change plugs again too. Any input PLUS or MINUS about plugs would be great, I have heard Splitfires suck for these cars, so ?????

Autolite 764's are good for stock.
Autolite 103's and a 180 t-stat are good for chipped Lincolns.

Also what about Motorcraft coilpacks? I have heard these are the best and coilpacks dont tend to give you any extra HP, and OEM Motorcraft is what was designed for car, any thoughts on this issue as I am ready to buy all the stuff for this..

Motorcraft will do fine. Otherwise, there's Hypertech, Napa Gold, etc. Running a lower t-stat with your tune will allow you to run better timing and gaining a couple more horsepower and better off-the-line acceleration. Don't expect 400hp, or anything. Every little bit counts.

The Motorcraft coils will do you fine. Unless you're running with over 120K on the clock, the Motorcrafts should be fine. MSD makes a lower-cost replacement- but again, don't drop your money expecting huge gains. It's just a lower-priced alternative.

I have Autolite 103's, 180 degree t-stat and the GMS 4V COP connector kit, I have my plugs gapped at .058. The wider the gap you can get away with, the better your engine will be running.

If you can find a chart to show you what a rich plug and a lean plug looks like, you can test and tune your own, .. you're supposed to drive the car how you'd drive it normally and check the plugs. I always get in run it wide open a couple miles down the road and back and adjust accordingly with a magnifying glass, with new plugs. Every engine runs a bit different so if you're real picky (as it sounds) that's a good way to do it. That way you know it's burning right when you open it up. Which is how I drive all the time.

Mine likes Autolite AR94s, which are a heat range colder than 103s. I got them for nitrous use but they're fine in normal daily driving.

just dont get those POS bosch platnum crap, i had the electrode fall into the cyl of my 4.6 tbird while doing 80 on the interstate, i had to take off the head and lap the valves and luckelly that was it,i contacted bosch and found out that there "warrenty" is only valid till you install them, then your f*ked they wouldnt even remburse the cost of the plugs

funny...same thing happened to me with an 88 bmw 325is i was driving.. thankfully it somehow musta found its way out and didnt cause any problems besides some misfiring...needless to say bosch plugs will never be in any of my cars.... even the bmw winterbeaters.

I had a 97 Tbird that almost crapped out on me because of those peices junk, DONT put bocsh anything in a 4.6 2v/4v ever. Its like the ebola virus for cars!
