I've allready read all the threads about the subject in this forum but ...
To make a long story short: Few months ago I went to a dealership to check my CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT, they told me the code were P0775 and P0735, and they had to open the tranny to check the solenoid pack, so I went to a second lincoln dealer and they told me it's nothing, this kind of stuff happens in winter, so I just waited til last week the check trans came out 3 times so I am planning to buy a new valve body and a new solenoid pack from Five Star Ford Parts cause they are really cheap compare to the dealers here in quebec, here the valve body is 670.94 $ US and the solenoid pack is 571.65 $ US ( compare to five star valve body is 323.75 and solenoid pack is 255.22 ) so I would go to the dealer have them open the tranny and check it out and if the parts needs to be replaced they could do it right away, and I wouldn't have to pay just to check the problem( 2 hours labor). What do you guys think, is it a good idea, plus does it happen to be just the solenoid pack or is it always both of them. Thanx for your advices

Also

I've read about the updated generation of solenoid pack and valve body, I have a 2000 Ls v8, sould I buy a 2002 ls v8 valve body and pack solenoid ? Thanx again guys.

Just a guess here...but if the 00 models have had updated parts, the Ford catalog should give you those updated numbers. There shouldn't be a need to order a different year's part numbers...unless there is a trick here I don't know about.
