I just slotted my own rotors and bought some dustless kevlar brake pads and it made a h*ll of a difference. I also heard replacing the lines with stainless steel lines helps out a lot also. I probably do that sometime in the near future.

Good luck!

anytime.. There may be other kits out there, I just remember reading that thread, kinda expensive, but I guess Ken is sellin it half off. Now I dont know if he still has it for sale or not, I'm sure he'll pop in

Get the StopTech Big Brake kit. You won't be sorry with that kit. Get the front and back kit for $5200. I've had this kit now on my LS for about 2 months and they worth every cent. You can order them from www.stoptech.com.

$5200!! DAMN!! My lifes saving. LOL
Well, I didn't spend that on them since I got them used. However, had I known what they were before that I would have spent the $5200 in a heartbeat.

WOW your paintjob is amazing, it almost looks like the tri-coat white that I have, at a certain angle it gives off a creamish tint that fades to white.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? That is almost ridiculous. I mean it really is. I can't imagine one of these cars needing that kind of money spent on brakes. If you race your car a lot, maybe...but for occasional racing and normal use, there HAS to be much more economical approaches to outstanding braking. Has anyone checked with Baer and seen what they could offer?

I think the paint looks like crap in the picture. Seeing it in person is a whole different story. After shooting candy on this car I will never go back to stock paint on any car.

Not really. When I first bought my LS the brake pedal was junk. I mean, it was so mushy. I upgraded with stainless steel braided brake lines, crossed drilled/slotted rotors and Porterfield R4-S brake pads. That was a big improvement over stock but it just didn't have the bite to stop. I got my Big Brake kit much cheaper than $5200 since I got it used. However, this kit is something just can not be explained in words. You would have to drive a car with these on it to really appreciate it.

If you just want to have something a little better than stock go with what I did above first. However, if you want to stop on a dime and have some change leftover then I'd suggest the StopTech system. You may not need the fronts in most applications which reduce the cost but if you're gonna do it...do it right!

Honestly, $5200 is going overboard for an aftermarket braking system. I noticed you got it for cheaper but how often does a used lincoln ls kit come up for sale? I have never seen one, not that I'm looking either. To me, it's like putting a tricked out 408 in your daily driver. Sure, you'll get there faster but that's why there is a track. That kit is made for the track/auto-x IMO.

Where can I see pics of this kit? Installed would be nice.

Chad,

I got a deal on the system used but I was saving up to buy it new to begin with. It all depends on what your priorities are. Of course, most would spend $5G's on a stereo system but not me. I'd rather have performance. It all depends on what you want. Like I said in an earlier thread if you ever drove an LS with this system you'd understand why they are worth the money. As for looks, it looks like any other painted caliper but it has StopTech on it. I plan to take some pics of them on the car and post them here.

hey ohioLS, where did you get the dustless kevlar brake pads?

I agree that the Porterfield R4-S pads are well worth the money. I ran those for about 2 years until the StopTech's. If I had to do it over again I would get the R4-S pads for sure.

Well Gray....when you put it like that....I have to agree. I have seen some people spend ridiculous amounts of money on things I wouldn't even dream of. Look at some of the ricers...they spend hundreds of dollars on those freakin blingy wings for cryin' out loud! And what some spend on stereo equipment is outrageous in my opinion. But it's what THEY prefer...and what I think of it doesn't matter. So if it does what you want, then it's worth it to you...and our opinion is just like an ***hole....everyone's got one!!!
