not sure of the make and model of the tv, it's an older rear projection tv 15-20 years old works fine except when it doesn't want to turn on. some times if you turn it on and leave for a 1/2 hour or so it will turn on, any ideas how to fix it.

Go to Best Buy and buy a new one. I recommend plasma for longevity & color or LCD/LED for bright display in light rooms.
If you are not keen on BB then chose the electronics vendor of your preference.
20 years is beyond the life expectancy of any TV.

My big screen started doing that about 6 months ago.
I went online to a forum that dealt with my specefic model.
The cure was simple(at least for my set)
The forum members who responded told me to unplug the set from the wall, wait one minute, then plug it back in the wall socket.
The tv needed to reprogram itself, and it did that by reconnecting it to the power source.
Has worked fine ever since.
You might try this and see if it helps.
Bob.
