I watched that Super Size Me film while eating McDonald's. :p

*laughs in face of danger*

You guys are looking at this wrong. I believe in the Bible, but I don't think Darwin had it all wrong. Survival of the fittest. If they are too fat to live long enough to procreate then they will die off. The problem is that they say the so called "fat gene" only accounts for IIRC about 9% of a persons body weight.

its' this whole mentality we have now of, oh it can't be my fault it has to be the fault of the big corporation blah blah blah

Agreed 100%, Topher.

I said the same thing after watching that Super Size Me.

You know, the guy was making McDonald's out to be this big, bad corporation. (which it probably is) But, at the end of the day, they are in the business of selling food to make a profit. At NO time is it their job to take responsibility for a customer and a customer's kids. (IMO) Personal responsibility has to take over, somewhere.

It's not all bad, though. That film (either directly or indirectly) influenced McDonald's (and the like) to put nutritional information on the food boxes and increase their menu range.

Hmm... hungry now! :D

actually if you watch KILLER AT LARGE. it shows that everyone is at fault..from the parents, to the companies that produce this crap, to the government, and even ourselves. This movie is not biased in ANY way...you should watch it. You can stream it on Netflix right now if you got that :p

I watched it for the 4th time on my xbox last night :p

for instance the cookie monster from Sesame Street tied to promote healthy eating by saying vegetables are great to have at times and then once that aired MANY kids and parents PROTESTED outside of PBS :p

Yeah, I'll check it out, Pete. I could probably find it on one of those free movie streaming sites.

You're right. Like how it's the cigarette company's fault so many people die from smoking. They just force that smoke down their throats. When in reality people make a choice to smoke. I'm ok with the no smoking in the car if a minor is in their, but suing when you get cancer, BS.

some widow just won $26 million because her husband was forced to smoke cigarettes and died from it.

The families and the fatsos.
Those are the only people to blame.

Not government. Not the industry. No one.
Just the fat adults and the parents of fat kids.

Those people in Army uniform are National Guard... not really Army. Makes me sick...

In the real Army they'd get thrown out quick.

Seriously? Did you ask him?

Not all national guard is fat like that, and not always do they get kicked out if they are overweight. The 82nd was just over in Baghdad and they had a few rather large people. There is no proof from the pictures that the soldier is active duty or national guard or reserves.

National Guard is real army, they just don't train all the time. They do the same job as active duty, go through the same training, go to the same countries, wear the same clothing, shop at the same places, get paid the same when they go on title 10 orders or title 32 orders...some get paid better while they aren't on orders which is why they don't want to go active duty even with all of the money you're entitled to with food, housing, etc.

Oh, I'm national guard, not over weight, been deployed like active duty, qualify with a weapon just like active duty, pass my pt test like active duty, have a pt shirt that says ARMY on it, I wear ACU's, I carry an M4...oh, and I got a military id that says ARMY, it doesn't say NG either.

well someone got a little offended? this thread is not about the army man. the whole point is how many people is the us arent just a little pudgy, theyre full blown obese.

no, i dont get offended easily, it just gets old...there's no proof that that soldier is in the national guard

yes, its disgusting how some people don't take care of themselves and let their weight get out of control, i just saw on msn.com a few days ago that some lady was trying to be the fattest woman...why in the world would anyone want to have that title?
