What was the final year for the Bill Blass edition? Does anyone have one? I would like to see what they look like. My uncle had one, but I can't really picture it.

It was pretty much the same car appearance-wise except...

1. Seats were different (no side bolsters)
2. Digital dash
3. Wire wheels

Thats all I can remember, been a while since I've had a mark... :shifty:

actually mine came with BBS wheels :p I think the bill blass had pillow top seats, different suspension, I know the compressor is somewhat different. The Bill Blass had pinstripe with the BB in it, also had it on the dash, no fog lights, and it had a hood ornament. I want to say they were made until 92 but I don't know when they began, 1988? Cause I know before that it was the Versace.

I'm up in the air with the hood ornament thing, 1 of my LSC's had 1... I cant see it being an option, but the LSC's tend to not have 1... Mine was never hit, so it wasnt a replacement header panel either...:shifty:

left over from the production run :D who knows, I've seen a lot of weird stuff but most of the LSC's I've seen have no ornament to give it that sleek sporty look

My '92 LSC has the 'spring-back' star ornament. I'm positive it's original too.

I got a '92 Bill Blass. Same wheels and outwards appearence as the '92 LSC, with the exception of a hood ornament. Inside, as said earlier, digital dash and different seats.

The BB has chrome side molding, the LSC doesn't...so you're outward appearance is different.

I thought the LSC's had chrome molding unless it was a Special Edition where are the molding was the same color as the car

Nope, the BB and LSC side trim are different.

1984 Lincoln Mark VII Bill Blass Edition

This is my friends 1984 BB. It was ordered in 1983 and was one of the first 1984 cars. Her father purchased the car and passed away last year. She inherited the car and it has 50,000 miles on it. It's in mint condition.

1991 and 1992 Bill Blasses have the LSC suspension and wheels. I think the rear axle is the same too. For those years, it was really only trim differences that separated the two as they were mechanically identical.

I have the '85 with everything as listed in Oldschool1's post above. It has the wire wheels, hood ornament, "BB" on the dash and even says "Bill Blass" on the passenger side rear quarter window. Oddly enough, vin positions 6 and 7 on this car show it's a '98' which a vin decoder in another post that I saw in the tech section of the Lincoln club says is a base model. Bill Blass is supposed to be a '92'.

...
Thanks for your post!

We've referenced several sources including Ford manuals and at least five cars and have concluded that both are correct!

In 1992, the LINE, SERIES, BODY TYPE FOR PASSENGER CARS (characters six and seven) for the Bill Blass was 92.

In 1984 and 1985, the code was 98 and covered the Base, Bill Blass, LSC, Gianni Versace, and (hold on to your seats folks) Comtech.

We've also update the tech article to include the additional vehicles. Thanks. See:

I owned an 87 LSC Bill Blass. It looked just like Jibit's Mark but is was champaign in color with the dark blue interior and had the same wheels.

Could you post the 6th and 7th vin characters for us to reference?

87 is a funny year and the values could swing either way :)

Sorry, I have my vehicle registration and it was a 1988 with VIN # 1LN _ _ 93_, etc. So the 6th # is 9 and 7th # is 3. By the way, my LSC did have a hood ornament. Also, I apparently did not have the Bill Blass edition. It was an LSC.
