Ok I'm going to have to make a disclaimer here because this is my car and I work on it how I please. This write up does not imply that this is the only way to do this or the best way.Just way I did it. That said,on we go.

Thought some might like to see these being made. Like I mentioned in other threads I could not find anyone selling 4.250bc to 4.500bc adapters that also had to have the 4.5bc tapped 1/2-20 for the long wheel studs for the welds

Here is the large chunk where it all starts.

Turn down OD look at all those chips.

Here are the 2 blanks

All the holes done.

I also had to change the angle of stock lugs to hold the adapters on to match 90 degree countersinks in adapters. Here is fixture and machining new angle.

Was some work but cost 0 and got what I needed to mount skinny welds up front.

I thought I remember driller's car havig an issue with the front prostars sticking way out because of the need for a spacer to clear the calipers..put up some pics of the car when you get all the wheels and tires mounted! Love the look of a nice street/strip car!

Yep they stick out some. But for the couple times down the track should not be a problem. I will take front shots soon so you can see how much.

Here you can see how they stick out. My spacers are alittle thicker then 1 inch like some. I made mine the same thickness as the length of the stock front wheel studs so I could put them right on.

Here are some shots of the alum front lugnuts I made to save some weight.

I've only ever seen 1 aluminium lug strip or be damaged and that was an installation error.. user error really. They are usually T6 temper 7075 Aluminum but he should have no problems as he doesn't have that set up for a daily driver.

Not to argue but I will at this point. Who have you seen using aluminum lug nuts? I mean he can make them and use them on his car and for Drag Racing I don't see a problem with it but not sure if it would pass Tech if they new they are aluminum?

That is trying to save such a small amount of weight to me in a place that I do not wish to worry about possibly seizing on or galling. I mean all you have to do is round the hex trying to loosen it and then your gonna really be screwed so to speak

Those are really nice, I hate trying to polish lug nuts on wheels like the rally or rally IIs on my GTO. End up taking them all off.
Tuner guys love the aluminium lug nuts, 31g each is nothing; I thing most people run them because they can get color matching but I could be wrong.
You can get them for just about anything and in any color you want, or just have them anodized.

Sorry but as my name on here should lead you to believe I am a Tuner Guy with my Subaru. Out of all the years at the Chassis Dyno Shop working on cars I have never seen a car with Aluminum lug Nuts. Must be the Poser Tuner guys that use stuff like that cause I have never seen this stuff on anything I have worked on. Even when I had some Honda's I paid a lotta money for a set of Keyed Lugs and they were Steel.

Funnier yet my main engine machine shops owner who spares no expense on his stuff made light weight lugs for his daughters quad style Buggy out of Titanium.

So not calling you a liar or anything but for me the only reason I would make a Lug Nut out of Aluminum would be to make a demonstration piece or at the most a show piece. I mean I am one of those people that torques lug nuts to manufacture spec and don't just wing em on with a impact gun.

This is exactly why I showed the alum lugnuts to freak some out. It worked. This is only to go str8 not turning and not on the street. There are tons of guys running 7,8,9 sec 1/4 mile times with alum lugs.

Sorry but as my name on here should lead you to believe I am a Tuner Guy with my Subaru. Out of all the years at the Chassis Dyno Shop working on cars I have never seen a car with Aluminum lug Nuts. Must be the Poser Tuner guys that use stuff like that cause I have never seen this stuff on anything I have worked on. Even when I had some Honda's I paid a lotta money for a set of Keyed Lugs and they were Steel.

Funnier yet my main engine machine shops owner who spares no expense on his stuff made light weight lugs for his daughters quad style Buggy out of Titanium.

I guess I've never been in the market for aluminum lug nuts and its funny he made them because Tuesday this week a guy had his RSX in the shop with red lug nuts. I asked him if they were powder coated and he said "no, anodized aluminum". I thought it was a little strange, I've seen them before in a through hole plain finish at the drag strip but found out it wasn't. I did a google search; Corvette, Mitsu, and Honda forums is what popped up the most. Like I said, most were because of color match or just plain old show.. can't make this stuff up.

Have used many Lathes and that one was unfamiliar to me. I personally own a non CNC MORI SEIKI and use an older Servo Shift LEBLOND from the US NAVY at my brothers shop.

I still can't see living life working on vehicles without having these tools.
