I love the new rims on the car but something isn't quite right with the way it looks. I think with the rims not being Chrome the car might look better with the window trim gloss black like the rest of the car. What do u guys think?

no leave the trim chrome , it leaves some chrome to contrast with the chrome on the wheel.

He is stating since the rims are not chrome but that of satin or polished in contrast to the chrome window trim. I see what he is talking about because rims and chrome trim are opposite of one another. So he is envisioning blacking out the chrome trim vs powder coating the rims completely black. Cost factor would be easier to paint the trim vs powder coat.

I personally would not do anything to it, and if you must then powder coat the whole rim black and leave the chrome trim there as a contrast separator of the body lines.

ok, i get what you guys are saying now, but still looking at it from the photo you cant really see a difference.

Yeah its a weird contrast between the two, sometimes when the sun is on it a certain way I love it. Other times it looks way off and like its a mismatch...

well could you polish the silver parts of the rims? that would work, IMO its easier to put on new wheels, then try to find that trip piece and put it on.

My thoughts exactly.
The rims together with the chrome trim in the photo look great together IMHO; they complement each other and accent the lines of the car.

I like the blaked out look, but then your going to want to black out the tail lights and then something else will look wrong to you. The car is sexy as it sits. IMO, leave it as is.

I Like the trim blacked out. looks more sinister. Some will say blacken the wheels but I think they look great just the way they are.

How about brushing the trim to match the wheels.

Since you have to rough it up anyway for paint you could just do a straight sand with a light grit and see how it looks.

throw some black duct tape on it and trim it up,if you no likey, dont do it. All this hoopla about blacking/not blacking the trim out is all over the place. If I had a black car with black rims,I would do it,so everyone would see what it looks like.

Honestly, its your car,do with it as you please. :)

If you go this route, make sure you seal the trim with a flat or gloss clear. If you leave it bare, it will discolor on you and oxidize.
