The Northern CA club went on a group ride on Saturday through the wine country. Had a great time, but my air ride system slammed. BlackIce was kind enough on Sunday to install springs and shocks-did excellent work, even down to preserving all the wires and parts so that if I ever wanted the air ride back, I could. I can't thank him enough for his expertise and skill in taking care of my baby. My 96 is in near perfect shape, 43k original miles, and garage kept before I got it. And it was driven by a little old lady (my mother in law).
So, whats next? Mufflers on Tuesday, BlackIce love and care on other parts (chip, plugs, wires, etc-I don't have tools anymore) in a few weeks, and I am done!
Pics right now are on the MarkVIII.org board under suspension. I will get new ones loaded here soon.
This car just handles SOOOO much better with the coil suspension. So that this doesn't devolve into another long conversation about coils versus air-ride-I loved how BlackIce's car road. Simple as that. It wasn't money, because I can afford any car I want (sorry, that sounds stupid, but I know money is a valid concern on Mark VIII parts and repairs, and I respect that) I wanted that feel, tighter and lower. Just my taste. Lower, meaner and accentuates the shape of the car better. Just check out BlackIce's new setup, and you know if you like it or not. I loved it. And now, I am a little closer to my perfect Mark.

Thanks and a big shout out to BlackIce. He is not only the MAN, but a great guy.

Dave, it was my pleasure pal. Working on that car made me nervous, since it is basically in showroom condition.

I am thrilled that you got what you wanted out of the conversion.

I will be sending you links to the other goodies we need to get you "on the Mark", if you know what I mean.

Thank YOU for your patience...as you could tell, i am not a hack. i cant leave things hanging. And if the day ever comes that you, or someone else wants to put air ride back into it, they will be thanking me when they see how I treated the air lines/wiring that was left over.

Folks, the Performance White paint is blinding. It is so bright, you see spots after staring at it in the sun! Look at how the white paint "pops!'

Folks... here's pics of his car!
